[Clone and Go]

Dashboard Scaffold & Local-First Workflow

A clone-and-go base for new dashboards, and a way to build them locally instead of paying per message in the app builder.

01 /context

The hub was created in an AI app builder synced to a git branch. Iterating there was slow and billed per message, and every new dashboard re-solved auth, filters and data access.

02 /my role

Extracted the scaffold from the hub and wrote its manual.

03 /problem

Colleagues needed to start a dashboard without re-solving auth, roles and data plumbing — and without burning builder credits.

04 /how it works
  1. 01 · The base

React + Vite + TanStack Router + shadcn + Tailwind with auth, roles, a data client, UI kit, filters, a dev tunnel and sample dashboards.

  2. 02 · The data pattern

The MySQL → Postgres mirror pattern and the data-health suite, as reference.

  3. 03 · Local first

Development happens locally with a coding agent; the builder is used only for scaffolding.

  4. 04 · Real login locally

A tunnel makes Google sign-in work in local dev; a headless browser validates every change.

  5. 05 · Docs

An edge-case manual and a visual-language guide distilled from the production dashboards.

07 /what broke and what I changed
  • ! brokeA fix looked broken in production: it was merged on the local branch but never pushed to the synced one.
